yeah, ok I can try that. She seems to like when I put her food on a string and let her get it off herself. Out of all toys she likes that the best.

Just a hint....you can also use Kool-Aid to color your wood toys by just soaking them......some people even color their hair in the stuff Surprised

I have not actually tried it myself, but I am going to be making some toys and found this info while making sure I knew safe materials to use. Very Happy

Razz Razz Razz

I am going to try the kool aid idea on Manus blocks of wood, whenever I have the time, I'm sure he'd love that! Heck, Poppy might even like that!

Oh Bih! You don't know what you're missing!
It's just a concentrated flavored drink mix that you add water & sugar to & kids just adore! It comes in lots of different fruit flavors, & lemonade & others. It's real tasty, but I haven't bought any for years, since my kids were little. Now days I just keep those individual fruit boxes on hand.

Kool-Aid is a name brand for a drink. It comes in small packets of powder form and a variety of flavors...and colors Very Happy Red, orange, yellow, purple etc.... To drink you add sugar and water, but for coloring you can omit the sugar. It smells yummy too, which may help shy birds get curious about the toys. Very Happy

LOL... yeah, I don't know what I'm missing!! hehe... sounds yummy. I don't think we have anything like it here.. Although I have to say I've never had to desire to look for those kind of things... so I might go and see if we have anything similar to the 'kool-aid'.. Smile

Thanks Cathy and Sarah for explaining that. Smile I just use the normal colouring, but the flavouring might be interesting for the birds. Smile I hope we have something like that here. Smile

Are plush toys safe? My mini macaw loves his cuddle buddy, and for a while had a cotton "thing" I made which he liked during the afternoon. If he chews on it are there any toxins in the fabric, or if he pops it open is the plush dangerous? BTW>>>>> LOVE the koolaid idea!!!
