I have been thinking of getting a large parrot and have been wondering what would be the best things to feed a large parrot.

Many large birds have specific food requirements.

As you look around you will find lots of info on the different diets.

Look into:
Red Palm oil - the stuff that is mostly oil from the fruit - not the nut.

Today I learned of a Google site that previews books & I joined the book club. The book connected to this link has some of the book published for you to check out. Also it has been noted that the book, although old can be purchased online for very cheap.
