| Goffey the Goffins. |
|
|
Hi everyone, my family and I have had a very sad time, my Ex- Partner Mark died suddenly on the 28th June and I'm going to adopt his Goffins Cockatoo.
Mark adored Goffey and spoilt him thoroughly so until I can train him I'm going to have my hands full. Goffey screams for attention and although not a spiteful bird he is very mischevious.
I already have a Hahns named Mischief and a Sennie called Tim and originally I thought of giving Goffey to a parrot rescue but in the end I couldn't bear the thought of giving him up, also there was still a lot of love between Mark and I and it felt as as if I would be betraying him if I didn't have Goffey living with me.
Any advice from experienced Cockatoo owners would be much appreciated, Goffey is approx. 18 years old. |

You friend will be very pleased that you stepped up to take in Goffey.
Now that he is yours you have the opportunity to help him 'change'.
Unfortunately I am not an expert to be able to help you. There is a bird help on-line every Sunday night. Originally it was going to a fair bit [$] to join but you can get the newsletter for free & see if they offer you the 'free' opportunities they have offered me. They feature many bird experts every Sunday evening & you can ask them questions directly.
Here is the thread I started a while back with the info: http://www.fluffies.org/en/par.....highlight=
