African Greys- Loudness Scale  Reply with quote

Hi everyone!

I am a current owner of two parrots- a Nanday conure and a Green Cheek conure. I am researching the possibility of getting another, larger parrot. One of my interests for a long time has been to adopt an African Grey. My main concern would be primarily the noise level of the bird. I was wondering, all of you African Grey owners out there, how loud do African Grey parrots get?

Thanks for all the help!

I looked after a Grey recently & she had a loud voice but didn't use it a lot. I've heard that Nandays are pretty loud so I'd think you'd be OK. Laughing

From my limited experience - mostly from hearing Grey stories - most Greys are timid about change & other birds - even the same species. They can be the best bet in a one bird home IMO. You have to socialize them well or get one that is gregarious.
